Bomb Threat At Moncton Church

A Moncton church had to be evacuated over the noon hour on Saturday after a bomb threat was called in to Codiac RCMP.

Sgt. Dan Poirier said someone phoned police stating there were bombs inside the Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Salisbury Road.

Poirier said officers searched the area but did not find any explosives inside or outside the church.

Heavily-armed officers wearing body armour and carrying rifles could be seen around the building for about an hour.

Poirier was unsure how many people were inside but said there were 20 to 30 cars in the parking lot.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
