Water Damage Closes Uptown Pub

An apartment fire above a Prince William Street eatery keeping crews busy in the wee hours.

Crews got the call to respond about 3:30 a.m. this morning after a couch fire set off the building’s sprinkler system.

As a result, Cask and Kettle Irish Gastropub is closed as the owners deal with a lot of water in the establishment.

In a Facebook post, they say they will be closed until they can get the place clean and dry.

Saint John firefighters left after 7 a.m. this morning.

The fire investigator is looking into the cause.
