Old Currency Stolen From Moncton Business

An investigation is underway after collector bills were stolen during a break-and-enter in Moncton.

Mounties responded to alarms at a business which sells old and rare coins and currency early Saturday morning.

Investigators determined the suspects had stolen a number of $1 and $2 bills which circulated in the mid-to-late 1980s.

Police have already received reports that some of the stolen bills have been used to make purchases in the city.

Business owners are encouraged to keep an eye out and to contact police if a customer tries to use the older currency.
