Jelly Roll Sobs Over Grand Ole Opry Invitation

  • Jelly Roll is soon to be a part of a very special club.
  • He is set to become the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry after receiving an invitation from Craig Morgan!
  • He was invited by Craig on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast.
  • Joe Rogan played a video of the first time Jelly Roll sang on the Opry stage in 2021. Jelly Roll began to get emotional, and then Rogan played Morgan’s message.
  • “Jelly Roll, you are officially invited to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry,” Morgan says. “It’s an honor to say welcome to the family, brother.”
  • Jelly Roll threw off his headphones and buried his head in his hands, crying. Then he asked Rogan for a hug to console him

  • Mark Downey started in radio broadcasting in 2001 when NB Broadcasting, now Acadia Broadcasting launched a Country Radio station in his hometown of St. Stephen. He's the morning show host of 98.1 Charlotte FM and the mid-day host on Country 94. On Sunday evenings, Mark also hosts the classic country show, The Weekend Jamboree. He owns his own mobile Wedding DJ Business performing at hundreds of weddings over the years. Mark was inducted into the New Brunswick Country Music Hall of Fame in October 2025.
