Country Music News (Dec 12)

Tim Hicks announced a new tour (Going Somewhere) on social media this morning. You can catch Tim at the Fredericton Playhouse (June 16) or the Casino Moncton (June 20). (Tim is Krista’s absolute favourite live performer, bar none!).

Brett Kissel released a new song today featuring Lee Brice. The song is called Farmer and Kissel says “It’s an honour for Lee and I to give this anthem to the hard working farming community, as a simple token of appreciation for all they do.”

John Michael Montgomery is playing the last show of his touring career tonight (Dec 12) at the Rupp Arena in Lexington. The singer’s brother, Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry, his son Walker Montgomery and his son-in-law, Travis Denning will all join him for the special performance.

Trisha Yearwood has announced plans for a dozen concerts in the new year called  “An Intimate Acoustic Evening of Stories & Songs.” Trisha is  promoting her new album The Mirror.  A deluxe edition  is coming on January 23 with four new songs and a bonus cut. It’s her 16th album but the first to feature songs entirely co-written by Yearwood herself.

  • Krista has worked for Country 94 since Jan 2015 and is currently your host for the LIVE ON THE DRIVE with Krista, Monday through Friday 3-6 pm. What does Krista love about country music? EVERYTHING! She loves interviewing artists like Dean Brody, Tim Hicks, Lindsay Ell, going to concerts and dancing in the control booth on King St.

If you ask Krista her ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE thing, though, about country radio, the answer is the connection with you, the listener. The friendships made over the years with our listeners is second to none.
