Bernice Mary Kincade

March 2, 1954  –  December 8, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Bernice Mary Kincade (Quinlan) of Saint John, NB, who left us peacefully on December 8, 2025, at the age of 71. Born and raised in Saint John, Bernice was a bright light whose warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched everyone she met.

Bernice had a way of making everyone feel seen and cared for. Her smile could brighten any room, and her laughter was contagious. She poured her love and heart into her family. Her children were her greatest pride, and she delighted in every moment spent with her grandchildren. From trips to McDonald’s, adventures at the trampoline park, and the magical Christmases she lovingly brought to life, Bernice created memories that will be cherished forever.

Her career at Horizon Health was marked not just by dedication, but by friendship, laughter, and joy. Many who worked alongside her remember her kindness, her infectious laugh, beautiful smile, and the light she brought to the tray line and nutrition center. Outside of work, Bernice treasured life’s simple joys: sharing tea with her sisters, shopping trips, and countless moments spent making her grandsons feel proud and loved.

Bernice was predeceased by her loving husband and soulmate, Stew Kincade (Tubby); her parents, Aline Quinlan (Ouellette) and Edward Quinlan; her sister, Eileen Shaw (Quinlan); her father and mother-in-law, Stew and Barbara Kincade.

She leaves behind her devoted children, Tammy (Fred) Kelley, Christa Kincade, Stew (Jillian) Kincade, and stepdaughter Jenny Hatheway; her cherished grandchildren, Josh Hosford, Zach Kelley, Stewart Kincade, Jake Hosford, Zoe St. Pierre, Olivia St. Pierre, and Xavier St. Pierre; her sisters, Delina Osborne (Quinlan) and Pauline (Donnie) Daley; and many nieces and nephews who will forever carry her love and light in their hearts.

Bernice lived with compassion, generosity, and a love for life that was evident in everything she did. She was more than a mother and grandmother, she was a guiding light, a source of joy, and a reminder of the beauty in everyday moments. Though she has left this world, her love, laughter, and the countless memories she created will continue to inspire and comfort all who knew her.

Her legacy of love, kindness, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. May we honor her memory by carrying forward the same warmth, generosity, and laughter that defined her life. Though she is deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing that Bernice’s spirit will continue to shine in the lives of her family, friends, and all whose hearts she touched.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). A Celebration of Life will take place from the Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 AM. Donations in memory of Bernice may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
