An Animated K-Pop Monday Mystery Mashup

Huntrix took the world by storm when K-Pop Demon Hunters was released on Netflix but they are not the first animated K-pop group.

Unveiled in 2018, K/DA – pronounced kay-dee-aye – was a virtual K-pop girl group consisting of four League of Legends characters: Ahri, Akali, Evelynn and Kai’Sa. Their debut single “Pop/Stars” was created as a blend of western pop and K-Pop – in fact, TikToker and singer, Madison Beer, voices Evelynn in K/DA – and it did so well they released a 5-song EP.

Huntrix took it a big step further.

K-Pop Demon Hunters is the first film soundtrack EVER to have four of its songs in the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100, was certified double Platinum, and received five Grammy Award nominations, not to mention the movie won Best Animated Feature and “Golden” won Best Original Song at the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards, and was Time magazine’s 2025 Breakthrough of the Year.

Today’s Monday Mystery Mashup brought the two virtual K-Pop worlds together
