It is with profound sadness that the family of Clara Mary Briggs announces her passing, in Saint John, NB on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the age of 98. Clara was the daughter of Fred Daigle and Angeline Gaudet.
Clara will be lovingly remembered by daughters Pam Corscadden, Mary McCoy and Donna Briggs; grandchildren Stephen and Christopher Briggs, Erica and Cameron Corscadden, Michael and Mark McCoy and her great-grandchildren and extended family.
Clara was predeceased by her husband Clifford, daughter Elizabeth and son David, and 7 of her 8 siblings. She is survived by her brother Donald (NS).
Clara and her twin sister were born on February 14, 1927. Clara worked as a nurse’s aid beginning with the Saint John Provincial Hospital. She also worked at the General Hospital. Her last position as a nurse’s aide was at the Turnbull Home.
Prior to starting her career as a nurse’s aid, Clara worked at various jobs on the West Side as a teen. At the grain elevator, she worked with her sisters shoveling grain. Other jobs included cleaning rail cars and Simm’s Brush Factory. Clara enjoyed playing darts at the legion, bowling and dancing.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, New Brunswick, (506-634-7424). Visitation will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 PM and again from 6:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Liturgy will follow, on December 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM in Brenan’s Chapel.
