With great sadness, we share the passing of our Mom, Grammie, Nan, and Great-Grammie, Helen Templeton (Robertson) Bannister on December 19th, 2025.
Born at the family home on January 11th, 1933, she was the daughter of the late James and Jane (Templeton) Robertson who immigrated from Scotland in 1927, settling on a farm in Midland, Kings County, N.B.
Helen attended Midland Rural School until grade 8, then Belleisle Regional High School, graduating in 1950. After starting a family, Helen became a stay-at-home mom until 1981 when she returned to the workforce, working at Kmart McAllister Mall, until her retirement in 1998.
She was a proud member of Sapphire Rebekah Lodge #37, holding positions of Noble Grand and District Deputy President. For many years, Helen and Harold volunteered at the Monday night card parties, raising money for the building renovation fund. They had great fun at these card parties and made lifelong friends. Helen was also a member and former elder of Glen View United Church, United Church Women, and the Good Time Fellowship group.
Helen enjoyed gardening, reading, knitting, playing 45’s, watching her beloved Toronto Maple Leafs, and listening to country western music. Charlie Pride, Willie Nelson, and Box Car Willie were a few of her favourite artists, and she enjoyed meeting Charlie Pride at one of his concerts in Saint John.
