April 6, 1965 ~ December 11, 2025 (age 60)
With heavy hearts, the family of Arthur (Bim) Edmund Raynes announces his passing on December 11, 2025. Born in Saint John NB on April 6, 1965, he was the son of the late Ralph and Nancy (Andrew) Raynes.
Arthur dedicated most of his life to working as a mechanic, a passion that eventually brought him to the racetrack. There, he proudly served as part of the pit crew, caring for the stock car and embracing the excitement of race day. When he wasn’t at the track, you could often find him on Sundays laying in bed, watching the races he loved so much.
Arthur had a heart of gold and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was never one to sit still, he and Shelley enjoyed playing in a pool league together.
Arthur will be deeply missed by his partner, Shelley Savoy; his children, Terrence Maxwell and Kayden Maxwell-Raynes; and his stepsons, Zachory, Nicholas, and Joshuah Gaudet. He is also mourned by his brothers, Mark, Ralph, Rob, and Charlie Raynes; his sister, Sherry Arsenault; and his five grandchildren, Tiannah, Kiera, Lucas, Lincoln, and Grayson. He passed knowing that, even the kids that weren’t his own, loved him like a dad. That is one of the things that made him so special. He will be fondly remembered by the many friends he made throughout his life, especially Ronnie, Dave, Jamie, and Scott.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). In keeping with Arthur’s wishes there will be no visitation or service at this time. The family is planning a Celebration of Life later in the spring. For those wishing to donate in Arthur’s memory may do so to Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Canadian Cancer Society.
