Deborah ‘Debbie’ Mary Susan McNutt passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2025 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Debbie was born on May 10, 1959 in Amherst, Nova Scotia to the late Orval and Geraldine (Belliveau) McFadyen.
Debbie will be dearly missed by her siblings; Gary McFadyen (Denise), Carolyn Booth (Tom), Claude McFadyen (Dan), and Randy McFadyen (Allison), nieces and nephews; Jeff, Jill, Andrew, Ryan, Ally, Iain, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Debbie was a dedicated registered nurse who graduated in 1980 and began her career at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She later spent five years at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax before returning to Saint John, where she worked in the Burn Unit and devoted the remainder of her career to the Emergency Department at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Outside of her professional life, Debbie enjoyed gardening, knitting, reading, and shopping, and she especially treasured time spent at the trailer in Shediac. A devout Catholic, Debbie was always supportive of her church and deeply committed to helping those in need.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the SICU 3B South team at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their kindness and compassion. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Sirois, Dr. Brian Johnston, Dr. Attard, and Dr. John Mowatt.
Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29th from 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon. A Memorial Service will follow immediately at 12:00 Noon in Castle Fallsview Chapel with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Debbie’s memory can be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation or the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception Fund.
