Man arrested after break‑in at Maces Bay home

A break‑in at a home in Maces Bay has led to the arrest of a 36‑year‑old man from Public Landing.

The RCMP responded to a call to a residence on County Line Road around 7:45 p.m. on January 23.

Officers arrived to find the front door forced open and several items missing, including jewelry.

Mounties later learned of a suspicious vehicle parked nearby.

Police said officers went to the area and arrested the man after what they described as a short altercation.

Some of the stolen items were recovered, according to police.

The man was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in May.

A woman who was also arrested at the scene was released without conditions.

Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to contact the St. George RCMP at 506‑755‑1130.
