Saint John police arrest man wanted on Canada‑wide warrant

A man wanted on a Canada‑wide warrant has been arrested in Saint John.

The Saint John Police Force reported that 31‑year‑old Austin Inman was taken into custody on Wednesday.

Police issued the warrant a day earlier after Inman failed to return to the Parrtown Community Correctional Centre.

Authorities noted he is a third‑time federal offender serving a sentence of two years and one day for eight counts of theft under $5,000 and one count of failing to comply with an undertaking.

Inman is now facing additional charges for being unlawfully at large, resisting arrest and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, according to police.

He was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in provincial court on Thursday.
