It is with broken hearts the family of Brian Jospeh MacKenzie announces his passing on January 27, 2026, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Brian dedicated 36 years of his life working for the Canadian Coast guard until his retirement.
Brian will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Hope (DeMerchant), his son, Tom (Sheena Allen) MacKenzie and his beloved granddaughter, Lily MacKenzie. He will also be sadly missed by his sister, Dorothy (George) Sutton, his brother, Avard (Mary) MacKenzie, his sister-in-law, Linda DeMerchant and brothers-in-law, Kevin (Betty) and Peter Demerchant.
He was predeceased by his mother, Verna MacKenzie/Yoston and stepfather, Gordon Yoston, his in-laws, Phyllis and Gerald DeMerchant of Perth Andover and sister-in-law, Phyllis DeMerchant of Stoneham.
Brian and his family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. James Micheal and the entire Oncology Team at the Regional Hospital. They would also like to thank Dr. Christian Mackin and Dr. Anne-Marie Mackinnon for their help during these hard times.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). A private family Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery.
Donations in Brian’s honor may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Bobby’s Hospice or a charity that is closest to your heart.
