A Magical Summer Evening Returns to Place Fort La Tour This July

This (mid)summer, join an evening of enchantment!

The Saint John Theatre Company is returning to the iconic Place Fort La Tour with one of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies. Loyalist City Shakespeare proudly presents an open‑air production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, transforming the harbourfront into a world of whimsy, romance, and moonlit mischief.

Now in its fourth successful season, Loyalist City Shakespeare has quickly become a cherished summer tradition for theatre‑lovers and newcomers alike. With the historic harbour as its backdrop and the ocean breeze carrying the story, this year’s production promises an unforgettable evening of enchantment.

A Night of Magic, Mischief, and Moonlit Adventure

Audiences will be swept into Shakespeare’s tale of:

  • Mischievous fairies causing chaos
  • Lovers chasing love (and each other!) through enchanted woods
  • An inept troupe of actors stumbling into the hilarity

As twilight settles over Harbour Passage and the stars begin to glow, the stage becomes a living dreamscape—one where anything feels possible.

Whether you’re a lifelong Shakespeare fan or stepping into this world for the first time, this outdoor production offers the perfect blend of laughter, fantasy, and summertime charm.

Tickets are $35 Regular or $30 with a subscriber discount

A short walk is required from both Long Wharf Terminal Parking and the Fort La Tour Drive Parking Lot, so arrive a little early to enjoy the waterfront atmosphere.
