Recently, Krista has been delighted to see amazing photos of Saint John popping up in her feed. Earlier in January, she reached out to Andrew Miller to compliment him on his extraordinary photos and ask permission to share some of them here on the community portal.
Not only are Andrew’s pictures breathtaking, so are the descriptions that he posts with them. Proud to be a lifelong advocate of Saint John, it’s easy to see this reflected in what he shares – visually and verbally.
From February 22, 2026:
A fresh blanket of snow has a way of softening everything. Edges disappear. Footsteps fade. Even the old monuments around the square feels quieter somehow as if winter has tucked it in for a rest.
But snow only changes the surface.
Beneath it all, the stone is still there. The history is still there. The stories, the struggles, the lessons they don’t disappear just because they’re covered for a season.
It’s a reminder that while we may experience pauses, resets, or fresh starts, we’re still standing on what came before us. And just as importantly, what we build today will shape what stands here long after this snow melts.
We can appreciate the beauty of the present moment… while still honouring the past and planning for the future.
Winter doesn’t erase.
It reveals in its own quiet way.
