Saint John MP Wades Into National Controversy

Wayne Long has made a bold statement about the allegations against the Prime Minister’s office.

The MP for Saint John-Rothesay releasing a statement on Twitter, wading into the controversy regarding SNC-Lavalin and accusations the PMO’s office told then Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould to steer clear of prosecuting a case against the Montreal company.

In the statement, Long says he supports the opposition’s motion to launch an investigation into these allegations.

Long says he is “deeply unsettled” by the allegation about the Prime Minister’s office and a corruption and fraud case involving the engineering firm.

He says he was “extremely troubled” when he first heard of this last week and everything he has read since have him feeling the same way.
