A fire at a three-storey building at 291 Mansfield Place on the west side of Saint John has put two people temporarily out of their homes.
The fire was called in around 8 AM Monday and Saint John fire crews arrived and fought the third-floor blaze but it did cause smoke and water damage.
The other tenants were allowed back after smoke was ventilated from the 12 unit building.
However, the Canadian Red Cross had to step in to help two people with emergency lodgings, meals, winter clothing and basic needs for a woman and her adult nephew.
