Jody Wilson-Raybould Resigns From Cabinet

The federal veterans affairs minister has resigned from cabinet.

On Twitter, Jody Wilson-Raybould announced she was stepping down with a “heavy heart” and noted how this move in no way reflects upon veterans.

She says she sought federal office with a goal of implementing a positive and progressive vision of change and she adds her resignation doesn’t change that commitment.

This comes amid questions about into whether Justin Trudeau or anyone in the PMO tried to have Wilson-Raybould abandon a legal case against the Quebec firm SNC-Lavalin when she was justice minister.

Wilson-Raybould adds she is now seeking legal advice as to what she can or cannot say in regards to that matter.
