Country Music News (March 12)

Two episodes. That’s all it took. Marshals has already locked in a Season 2. The Yellowstone prequel stormed out of the gate on March 1, and the network clearly liked what it saw. Translation: Kayce Dutton isn’t going anywhere. And because Taylor Sheridan never rests, The Madison rides in this Saturday.

Jelly Roll was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry last night. The induction was equal parts party and heart‑on‑sleeve moment. Jelly Roll kicked things off by running through fan favorites like “Liar,” “Need A Favor,” “I Am Not Okay,” “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” and “Son Of A Sinner,” with longtime ride‑or‑die ERNEST by his side. The real gut‑punch came when Lainey Wilson—an early believer and frequent collaborator—stepped into the circle to officially welcome him into the Opry family.

The 2026 Country Music Hall of Fame inductees will be revealed during a live YouTube announcement on March 20. The CMA will stream the press conference—hosted by Marty Stuart—at 10 a.m. CT on its official YouTube channel. Potential nominees include Rosanne Cash, Mickey Gilley, Crystal Gayle, and Clint Black Clint – due to a new, dedicated exhibit in 2026.

  • Krista has worked for Country 94 since Jan 2015 and is currently your host for the LIVE ON THE DRIVE with Krista, Monday through Friday 3-6 pm. What does Krista love about country music? EVERYTHING! She loves interviewing artists like Dean Brody, Tim Hicks, Lindsay Ell, going to concerts and dancing in the control booth on King St.

If you ask Krista her ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE thing, though, about country radio, the answer is the connection with you, the listener. The friendships made over the years with our listeners is second to none.
