Scam alert: Text messages asking for parking ticket payment

The City of Saint John has been alerted to a scam circulating again that is targeting residents through text messages.

These text messages are NOT from the City of Saint John. We do not notify the public of fines through texting or social media. These texts request people pay an overdue parking ticket via a link.

Please do NOT click the link or provide payment details. Report these messages to your cellphone provider and then delete them.

The City will only notify you of a parking ticket by:

• Serving a ticket on your vehicle.

• Mailing a late notice of outstanding tickets to the registered owner of the vehicle
