A 51-year-old man is facing a long list of charges after a firearms investigation by Saint John Police.
According to a release, the man was arrested Tuesday afternoon by members of the Saint John Police Street Crime Integrated Enforcement Unit.
The IEU is made up of members of the Saint John and Kennebecasis police forces, RCMP and New Brunswick Justice and Public Safety.
Police seized several items during the arrest, including:
- 19 grams of a substance believed to be fentanyl
- Five grams of a substance believed to be cocaine
- $5,230 in Canadian currency
- A cellphone
- Digital scales
- Score Sheet
- Unused baggies
- Cutting agent
- A snub nose H & R .22-calibre revolver, loaded with eight bullets
- 40 bullets of .22-calibre ammunition
Police estimate the seized drugs have a street value of $4,640.
The man appeared in Saint John provincial court Wednesday.
He was remanded into custody and will be in court Thursday morning for a bail hearing.
He’s facing the following charges:
- Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of property obtained by proceeds of crime valued at more than $5,000
- Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
- Unsafe storage of a firearm
- Possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order
