Helen Priscilla MacKay

August 25, 1946  –  April 10, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of Helen Priscilla MacKay announces her passing which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, April 10, 2026. Born in Saint John, NB, on August 25, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Reginald and Hilda (Thibodeau) Strongman.

Helen grew up in Saint John and spent over 20 years working with the Bank of Canada. She had a passion for cooking and gardening and enjoyed a good night of cards with her friends. Helen was known for her warm, loving nature and the genuine care she showed to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

Helen leaves behind her loving husband of 58 years, Winston MacKay; son, John MacKay; siblings, Marilyn Strongman, Barbara Strongman (Wade), Roy Strongman (Cathy), Wayne Strongman (Debbie), Linda Elliot (John); as well several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Reginald Strongman, Janet KilCollins, Ronald Strongman.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). With visitation on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, and Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A Service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (2020 Loch Lomond Road, Saint John, NB) on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Those unable to attend are welcome to view the service via Zoom. Donations in memory of Helen may be made to Diabetes Canada.
