July 1, 1940 ~ April 11, 2026 (age 85)
It is with a heavy heart that the family of Marilyn Louise (Cowie) McQuinn, daughter of Louise (Lyons) and Bernard Cowie, announces her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 11, 2026, at the age of 85 years old. She was born in McGiveny, Miramichi, on July 1, 1940
She is survived by her husband Thomas J McQuinn after 68 beautiful years of marriage; children Stacy McQuinn and Randy (Hampton), Kelly McQuinn and Kelly (MacKay) and Michael McQuinn; grand children Brandy (Bobby), Celina and Cale; great grand children Tyler (Mariah), Tristen, Mackenzie, Dawson and Jack; great great grand children Remi and Tyson;
Marilyn’s life was rooted in joy, friendship, and a love of the world around her. Whether tending to her garden, where she created beauty with her own hands, or sharing a laugh over bowling or horseshoe, she found happiness in every season of life. As a proud Red Hatter, she embraced fun and friendship wholeheartedly. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel far and wide, making treasured memories, especially with her dear friend Patsy by her side.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Scott Cowie.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff of the palliative care unit of the SJRH, especially Krista and Paula.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd, Saint John, NB, E2J 2G3;(506)646-2424. Visitation will take place on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 2 pm -4 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at 4 pm in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. For those wishing to honour Marilyn’s name, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
