It is with heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Patricia “Patty” Louise Whittaker, which occurred on Sunday, April 12th, 2026, at Kennebec Manor. Born on January 24th, 1958, in Saint John, NB, she is the daughter of the late Phyllis (Marshal) Craft and step-father Doug Hicks. Patty was an avid cook & baker for many years. She was artistic, she loved music, drawing, playing cards and making Christmas decorations with her grandchildren. She enjoyed travelling and cherished every moment spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were her pride & joy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Patty is survived by her partner Brian Sleigh of Saint John; daughters Ashley Whittaker, Stephanie Whittaker and Jo-hanna Whittaker all of Saint John; brother Doug Craft (Sybil) of Quispamsis; sister Lee Craft (Terry) of Ontario; sisters-in-law Sally and Joan Craft of Saint John; grandchildren Tyler, Kaylie, Abigail, Charlotte, William, Kaiden, Mya, Noah and Sadie; close nieces Julie, Tammi and Melissa; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Along with her parents, Patty was predeceased by her brothers Gary and Robert.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). As per Patty’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Celebration of Patty’s Life will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Patty may be made to The Diabetes Association or to The Joshua Group.
