Diane F. Cormier, passed away, peacefully, holding her Son’s hand, at Carleton Kirk Nursing Home, on April 11, 2026 at the age of 79. One month from her 80th Birthday, which was always her favorite day of the year.
Diane was the first born of Donville and Vivian (Ervin) Cormier.
Diane is survived by, her Son, Robby his wife, Heather and their children Natasha Gates Harriet (Michael Harriet), Briar (Emma Vanwart) and Douglas. Her late Daughter, Stacey’s children, Megan Fowler (Cole Fowler), Kristen Todd (Ricky Todd), Son In Law, Roy Gilmore, Brother Donnie Cormier (Joan) and Daniel Cormier (Barbara), Sister Shirley Cormier, Sister In Law, Becky and Diane’s Great Grandchildren of whom she loved dearly, William and Crystal Fowler.
In Diane’s life she suffered, great loss, she was predeceased by her Parent’s Donville and Vivian Cormier, her Brother David (Tiny) Cormier, her Sister, Doreen Cormier, her Son, Jason Gates and her Daughter Stacey Gates-Gilmore and Sister In Law, Dianne (Wilkins) Cormier
Diane was a well known, self employed, home keeper. She enjoyed crafting, including a soap and candle business she started in her 60’s. Many gifts for friends and family she lovingly hand crafted from wreaths to driftwood creations. She loved decorating and refurbishing 2nd hand finds into cherished décor for her home and camp at New River. New River was her 2nd home, it was on the beach where she was happiest, and spent many days with her children, grandchildren and family and friends.
Robby & Heather thank the staff at Carleton Kirk Lodge, especially Kim, Tiffany, Cindy, Karen, Michael R and so many care givers. Diane lived her last years truly happy, being close to home, her beloved River View Drive and in the company of many local “West Siders”.
Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 19th from 2:00 PM -6:00 PM. A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, April 20th at 10:00 AM in Castle Fallsview Chapel. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Diane’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Bobby’s Hospice or a charity of the donor’s choice.
