New Brunswickers are officially paying more for electricity.
The Energy and Utilities Board issued an order on April 14, increasing rates by 4.29 per cent for all customers.
The new rates went into effect the same day.
The increase is slightly less than what NB Power requested earlier this year thanks to a revised revenue requirement submitted to the E-U-B.
A new monthly fee of $4.65 will also be charged to customers who choose to opt-out of the new smart meters.
That fee comes into effect September 1st.
