This National Hospice Palliative Care Week, we’re introducing you to the caring, compassionate professionals on our palliative care team.
Meet Lindsay, a licensed practical nurse in palliative care services at Horizon’s Saint John Regional Hospital. She was drawn to the profession after the experience of losing her grandfather five years ago. She knew then that she wanted to help patients and their families going through this journey.
“Sometimes we don’t get to talk to the patients themselves, so we reminisce with the family and find out what the patient did for a career or hobby, and what their favorite food was. You don’t always want to focus on the loss, so it’s always nice to hear about the good times.”
