It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Susan Beverly McKay, which occurred on Saturday, May 9th, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on May 16th, 1957, in Saint John, she is the daughter of the late Robert and Olga (Hanson) McKay. Beverly worked as a Stationary Engineer at St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Regional Hospital throughout her career. She enjoyed cross stitching and she had a great love for animals, especially her cat Darling and dogs Emma & River. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Beverly is survived by her daughters Malee Edwards (Derek) of Ontario, Crystal McMahon (Brad) of Saint John, Amber McMahon of Saint John; grandchildren Shea, Ara, Morgan, Jadon, Shelby, Declan, Stevie, Seffon and Hailey; great grandchildren Keanu, Kaleo and Sullivan; as well as nieces, nephews and friends. Along with her parents, Beverly was predeceased by her brother Clifford and granddaughter Keely.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) with visitation being held on Thursday, May 14th, from 6 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place in the Fundy chapel on Friday, May 15th at 10 a.m. followed by an interment at Fernhill Cemetery. Donations in memory of Beverly may be made to the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
