Saint John Police say a 26 year old man is in custody after an alleged armed robbery at a Princess Street convenience store earlier today. Police were called around 7:12am to Korner Grocery and were told a man armed with a handgun demanded cash from the clerk.
The suspect left and a short time later a brief foot chase occurred between the man and a police officer who nabbed the suspect at the corner of Sydney and Duke Street.

The Forensic Identification Unit is investigating at the scene and the man is expected to make a court appearance today to answer to the armed robbery charge.
