Ammonia leak reported outside TD Station

The Saint John Fire Department is on the scene of an ammonia leak outside TD Station in the uptown.

A notice from the city states an isolation zone has been established and crews are assessing the situation.

They are conducting air monitoring and working to mitigate the leak.

The public has been asked to avoid the area around TD Station at this time to allow emergency crews to work safely.

The pedway connecting TD Station to the rest of uptown Saint John is being closed off.

As of 3:45 p.m., the city has advised access to vehicles on the west side of TD Station is restricted. That’s the side with the Zamboni entrance.

If your vehicle is parked in that area, please don’t attempt to enter the isolation zone or approach emergency crews as they work.
