N.B. gas prices holding steady this week

It’s not much, but after weeks of increases, New Brunswick motorists are probably happy to see gas prices fall even a little bit.

An industry source reported Thursday that the price of regular self-serve would drop by less than a cent when the weekly adjustment is made.

Unfortunately, it means the maximum price will remain above $2 per litre.

Meanwhile, diesel is forecast to increase two cents a litre, bringing the maximum to about $2.33.

In Nova Scotia, maximum regular self-serve prices currently range from about $1.98 to $2 per litre while diesel is selling for between $2.18 and $2.20 per litre.

On Prince Edward Island, the maximum prices are currently $2.05 a litre for regular self-serve, more than $2.30 per litre for diesel and nearly $1.72 per litre for home heating oil.

The New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board adjusts prices every Friday at 12:01 a.m.
