ATV driver injured in crash with RCMP cruiser in Hartland

Nova Scotia’s Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) is investigating after an RCMP officer struck a man riding a side-by-side ATV in Hartland, leaving the driver seriously injured.

SiRT says the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. on May 17 near the intersection of Rockland Road and Clark Street. An RCMP officer was responding to an urgent call at the time of the collision.

The ATV driver was taken to hospital, where he was treated for a broken wrist and other injuries.

Due to the seriousness of those injuries, SiRT has taken over the investigation. The agency says it continues to look into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
