Whose Ur Mudder event in Petitcodiac, be prepared to get dirty

An upcoming event will give you the chance to get down and dirty and also challenge yourself.

It’s the fourth annual Whose Ur Mudder event.

“The event is a fun obstacle course that includes getting muddy. We have 15 or 16 different obstacles. We go through tires, we go over a car, we go into a mud pit, and over hurdles. We have an army crawl, and we end it with a sliding hill into water,” Co-Organizer Karen Hall-Middleton explained.

The event includes two options: a group fun run and an individual, more competitive run.

“In the fun run, all of the obstacles are optional. So, if you don’t feel comfortable going over hurdles or going over a car or whatever it may be, it’s optional. We don’t disqualify you, but in the competitive run, you compete, and you must complete all the obstacles. It’s like it’s a race, so whoever comes in first, second, and third,” Hall-Middleton added.

There is a $20 entry fee for either, or you can do both for $25. Money is used to help organize the event, and for Maple Street Park, where the event is held each year.

Last year, they had over 80 people sign up, and they’re hoping for a similar number for 2026.

The event is open to anyone over 14 years old, and Hall-Middleton says their oldest participant was in their 60’s.

“People come together, and they get dressed up. They wear little tutus, or they get T-shirts with something on it, or they get certain colours, and it’s just really all for fun,” Hall-Middleton expressed.

Spectators are also welcome. Last year, their numbers exceeded the number of participants. Hall-Middleton said they’re all there to cheer and help motivate those taking part.

She added that there’s also a DJ on site, with music to keep everyone moving, along with a food truck and door prizes.

“It’s probably going to take you no more than 10 to 15 minutes to get through it. But it’s the whole atmosphere, which is absolutely wonderful. You get everybody coming out, cheering the teams on, cheering them through the obstacles, with the whole family who come and enjoy it,” Hall-Middleton explained.

The deadline to register is May 31, and the event will be held on June 13 at Maple Street Park in Petitcodiac, New Brunswick.
