Many of us have the day off as we mark the first Family Day in New Brunswick — but for others, it’s just another Monday.
There are loads of events happening throughout the region — so many the province has created a special website to highlight them.
Among them, there’s free public skating at all four Saint John arenas and the W. C. O’Neill Arena Complex in Saint Andrews.
The Garcelon Civic Centre in St. Stephen has a free public skate and public swim, and there’s a free family swim at the Potash Corp Civic Centre in Sussex.
The New Brunswick Museum is also offering free admission from noon to 5 p.m., and there’s a community dinner at the Carleton Community Centre at 5 p.m.

Because it’s a holiday, that means many businesses are closed, including malls, grocery stores, NB Liquor stores and provincial government offices.
Saint John Transit also won’t be operating, but there will be regular mail delivery and collection today.
