With heavy hearts, the family of Doris Victoria Rogers announce her passing, on June 5, 2026, at The Saint John Regional Hospital. Born February 12, 1935 in Saint John, New Brunswick, She was the daughter of the late Allison and Ada (nee Collins) McKiel.
Doris was an avid reader, she would spend her spare time with her nose in a book. She also had many other hobbies such as baking her mother’s recipe for a chocolate cake with boiled frosting which is a hit at all family gatherings, she loved playing cards such as Crib, Scat, and 45’s, bingo, darts, scratching lotto tickets, and soap opera’s with her favourite being Days of Our Lives which nobody could interrupt her for that hour. She was also a volunteer for the Ladies Auxiliary of Lancaster Branch No. 69, Royal Canadian Legion.
Doris is survived by her children, Donnie Rogers (Elva) of Saint John, NB, Robert Rogers ( Irene Daigle) of Grand Prairie, AB, Lori Lawrence (Brian) of Saint John, NB, Charlie Rogers (Michelle) of Amherstview, ONT, Jeff Rogers (Carrie) of Pennfield, NB, Kelli Rogers of Saint John, NB, Dolly Rogers of Saint John, NB, Sherry Milito of Toronto, ONT; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; neice’s; nephew’s; and cousin.
Doris was predeceased by her husband, Robert Rogers; her parents, Allison and Ada McKiel; brothers, George McKiel (Clair), John McKiel (Joan), Charles McKiel (Yvette), and Donald McKiel (Joan); sisters, Irma MacPhail (George), Margaret Covert, and Shirley LeBlanc (Charles); daughter, Joan Baker; grandson, Andrew Rogers; son in law, Wayne Rogers.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). There will be no services or viewing as per her wishes.
For those who wish, remembrances to the Lung Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
