A new 15-car river ferry is coming to Belleisle Bay and should be in service this fall.
Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Bill Fraser making the announcement this morning at a community event.
Fraser says in a statement the ferry run is one of the province’s busiest routes, with more than 320,000 passengers each year.

The new $6.5-million vessel is being built at the naval centre in Bas-Caraquet and will replace the F85, which will be transferred to the Kennebecasis Island run.
That ferry was taken out of service in 2015 and the province has been paying $750,000 a year for a rental vessel.
Fraser also announced they’re taking name suggestions for the new ferry until March 12, with the winner being announced on March 21.
