Keep Your Pets Safe in Today’s Heat

With hot temperatures expected today, it’s important to remember that our pets feel the heat too.

If your pets are spending time outdoors, make sure they have plenty of fresh, cool water and a shady place to escape the sun. Try to walk dogs early in the morning or later this evening, and remember that hot pavement can burn sensitive paw pads. A quick test—if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws.

And never leave a pet in a parked vehicle, even for just a few minutes. The temperature inside a car can rise dangerously fast, even with the windows cracked open.

A little extra care today can go a long way in keeping our furry family members happy, healthy, and safe. Let’s all do our part to help our pets beat the heat.
