A 70-year-old inmate at Dorchester Penitentiary has died of apparent natural causes following an illness.
Correctional officials say Robert Budge had been serving a seven-and-a-half year sentence for sexual offences since November 2010.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the circumstances will be reviewed.
