Summer cruiser Recap August 7-9

Hey everyone! Quick update about last weekend’s events and a heads up as to where you can find me next weekend. Next weekend (Aug 14-16) I’ll be at out at third shift, RICC Challenge, passports to parks and so much more! but before I get into that, here’s a bit about last weekend!

Friday, I started my day at Dominion Park Beach, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect summer day for a stop down here! While I was there, I handed out some Chapman’s ice cream, which was an absolute hit on such a warm day. Nothing beats enjoying a cold, refreshing ice cream while sitting by the beach and taking in the summer atmosphere. it was a fantastic way to kick off my Friday and enjoy everything a sunny day has to offer.

My next stop was the Boardwalk, and there was so much going on! One of the highlights was watching the talented buskers performing along the Boardwalk. Another amazing sight was the Bay of Fundy sand sculptors, who were there giving everyone a sneak peek of what’s to come at the Bay of Fundy Sand Sculpture Competition before the main event, they were busy creating incredible works of art right on the Boardwalk. It was fascinating to watch them transform ordinary sand into detailed and beautiful sculptures. the Boardwalk was packed with excitement. It was the perfect place to spend part of the day, and it gave me a fun little preview of all the amazing things happening around Saint John this summer.

My first stop on Saturday was at PetSmart East Point for the SPCA Fill a Bus event, Volunteers were hard at work collecting donations of all kinds, including cash donations, dog and cat food, treats, toys, blankets, and other pet supplies. whether they were making a small contribution or donating a large amount of supplies. I arrived fairly early in the day, but to my surprise, the bus was already starting to fill up! Every donation, big or small, will go a long way in supporting the SPCA! By the time I left, the bus was already looking quite full, and I could tell it was going to be a very successful day for the SPCA and the animals they care for.

My next stop was the Qplex pool, which is always a great place to visit. It was the perfect spot to cool off and relax during a busy summer day. Spending some time at the pool was a refreshing break and a fun way to continue my Saturday, plus I had more Chapmans ice cream to give away while I was down there!

My last stop on Saturday was back at the Boardwalk for more Buskers on the Boardwalk! This time, I watched a local performer from Grand Bay put on a magic-themed show that kept the crowd entertained with impressive tricks and plenty of surprises. If people wanted to cool off from the heat, Market Square had live music playing indoors! giving visitors a chance to relax and enjoy some great local talent. Between the magic show, live music, and lively waterfront atmosphere, it was a fun way to end the day.

My first stop on Sunday was the Little River Reservoir, and it was a beautiful sunny day to be outdoors. The warm sunshine and clear skies made it the perfect morning for a visit. It was a fantastic way to start the day and enjoy a bit of summer in Saint John.

My last stop on Sunday was Buskers on the Bay. Since it was the final day of the festival, I had to stop by one more time and enjoy all the excitement before it ended. The Boardwalk was full of people enjoying the performances, the waterfront views, and the great weather. There was lots of entertainment, plenty of energy, and a fun atmosphere all around. It was a great way to wrap up the weekend and say goodbye to another fantastic year of Buskers on the Bay.
