A Cornhill man is facing several charges after an incident on Highway 890.
Sussex RCMP were called to the area Monday evening following reports of a man wielding an axe outside a residence.
According to police, the suspect then barricaded himself inside the home. Officers secured the area and later arrested the man without further incident.
The 43-year-old appeared in Saint John Provincial Court on Wednesday on charges of assault with a weapon, unsafe storage of a firearm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
RCMP say the investigation remains ongoing.
