Throughout the first two days of jury selection, 13 jurors were chosen, broken down into seven men and six women.
The court needs to choose 16 jurors in total, where 12 will be deliberating, and two will be alternates.
Out of 150 potential jurors called so far, five were no shows, and they could be found in contempt of court, and fined up to one thousand dollars.
Shephard is facing charges of first degree murder and arson in connection with the death of 18-year old Baylee Wylie back in December of 2015.
And that’s a wrap for today. We are adjourned. Jury selection continues tomorrow morning at 9:30.
