A Saint John Sea Dogs forward has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Edmonton Oilers.
Ostap Safin leads the Sea Dogs with 24 goals and 53 points in 56 games this season and is tied for team lead in assists with 29.
The 19-year-old is from the Czech Republic and is in his first year with the Sea Dogs.

Safin has represented Canada several times, including at the 2018 World Junior Hockey Championship, where he posted one goal and two assists in seven games.
He was selected by the Oilers in the 4th round, 115th overall in the 2017 NHL Draft.
