July 14, 1945 – August 22, 2026
It is with great sadness that the family of Alice Nora (Roberts) Galbraith announces her passing which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, August 22, 2026. Born July 14, 1945, in St. Stephen, NB, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Amy (Blakeman) Roberts.
Alice spent many of younger years growing up in St. Andrew’s before moving to Saint John in the 60’s. Alice worked in accounting for approximately 40 years, spending more than 30 of those years with Calp’s. Outside of work, she was an avid bowler and enjoyed participating in various leagues throughout the city over the years. Alice had a great love for nature and gardening, which was evident in the many plants that filled her home. She was also a true people person who could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Alice genuinely enjoyed connecting with others and was known for her kind and helpful nature. She was also feisty and certainly wasn’t shy about sharing her opinion—whether you asked for it or not. Those who knew Alice knew exactly where they stood with her, and they wouldn’t have had her any other way.
Alice leaves behind her daughter, Amy Galbraith; her sisters, Hazel Campos and Rosemary McGlauflin (Hollis); as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence “Larry” Galbraith; her sisters, Elsie Roberts, Doris Barry, Faith Reid.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). Interment will be held in Ocean View Memorial Gardens on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Donations in memory of Alice may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the SPCA.
