A Saint John clothing business on wheels is cruisin’ into an expansion with the help of the community.
In Pursuit is a hot-pink mobile boutique and its owner Dominique Leger is looking to buy a second truck.
They say too much of a good thing still isn’t enough & we agree! We’re ready for In Pursuit 2.0; a 2nd truck for gifts, stationery & novelties but need your help to get started! We launched a @kickstarter campaign & the perks are AMAZING. Give us a hand? https://t.co/g3V3Sj5YKY

She launched a Kickstarter with the goal of raising 10-grand and in less a week, six days — she surpassed it.
We asked her why she turned to crowdfunding and she says when planning the expansion, and she says she was turned down after approaching the organizations that had originally given her loan money to get started.
“I wasn’t really sure what to do but I knew that I didn’t want to approach a bank in the traditional sense and have to pay 20-percent interest on a very large loan because that 20-percent, I want to spend that outfitting the truck, or getting new product, or finding new vendors to showcase,” says Leger.
While she has surpassed her goal, the campaign continues to run for the full 30-day duration. She set, and also surpassed, a second goal of $10,800.
“Kickstarter takes a fee…so my next goal allows me to pay off those fees and to send a cheque for the full $10,000 to the truck company and say hey, here’s my down payment.”
The next goal jumps to $16,000 which is the actual cost of the box of the truck without any customization. The second truck would be used for things like gifts and stationary.
Guys. We’re going to have two trucks this year! TWO. TRUCKS. All thanks to you!
Still hasn’t quite set in yet. We CAN’T WAIT to show you all the new brands and vendors we’ll get to bring in!https://t.co/g3V3Sj5YKY
