Woodland Schools Close After “Credible Threat” Made This Morning

It was a scary start for some students going to school in Maine after “a credible threat” was made.

Baileyville Police Chief Bob Fitzsimmons said in a statement, he learned around 8am this morning of a threat, which he called credible, to a high school student from a recent Woodland High School graduate.

He says the threat outlined a specific act at a specific time, and the call was then made to close both schools in the area.

Buses were called in to take students back home, and parents of those who were dropped off were made aware of the situation.

A state-wide alert for the individual has now been sent out to all law enforcement in Maine.

No other details have been released.
