One of the businesses operated by the Saint John Learning Exchange has come a long way from the early days on Union Street.
Stone Soup catering now has it’s own cafe inside the Social Enterprise Hub on Prince Edward Street.
Shelley Smith took courses with the Exchange and has been involved since 2010 before Stone Soup was a company.

She says it’s been quite an eye opener working in the Stone Soup Cafe when you think about the old kitchen at the original location.
“Kinda just managing to get everything done compared to the new location here at the Hub. Smith says “so much more space to work in and all nice equipment to work with.”
The cafe is open Tuesday to Friday from 830am to 2pm, Smith tells us they are spreading the word about the cafe in the Waterloo Village and beyond.
Smith tells us the cafe gets a lot of staff from the Hub coming by along with students and more recently people the staff from nearby call centres.
They plan to expand next month and that will mean more hiring.
Stone Soup also operates a cafe at the YMCA.
