Symphony New Brunswick Foundation Inc. heard a sweet sound from Saint John Rothesay MP Wayne Long on Tuesday.
He announced a grant of just under $239,000 that will go towards the endowment fund for the symphony.
“We invest that money and try to earn as much we can on it and whatever it is able to earn is part of the pool of money that the foundation is able to contribute annually to the symphony,” says Reid Parker, who is both presidents of the Symphony and the Foundation.
To date, the Foundation has received 11 grants for a total of $1.5 million.
The NB Symphony Orchestra will have a guest conductor on April 16-18, Tania Miller from Victoria, BC for shows in Moncton, Fredericton and Saint John.
