The provincial government partnering with Living SJ to fund new approaches for solving generational poverty.
$10 million dollars in funding over 5 years was previously announced for innovative ways to help those living with very little.

One of the programs receiving support is the Parent-Child Assistance program. It’s a four-year pilot project to offer in-home assistance and support to new moms and pregnant woman with addiction issues.

“In Saint John, we absolutely know that in the last year there have been 57 babies born that have been drug exposed and those are the people who admit or we can prove have exposure to drugs in utero,” Gander says.
The Saint John Land Bank tackles the need for more affordable and adequate housing in the Old North End. It will support the development of Victoria Commons into 47 mixed-income housing units.
$90,000 will be provided to hire a project manager.
