A big fire this morning on Metcalf Street has kept several Saint John Fire crews busy.
The blaze is in a three storey large building, which was vacant and boarded up at the time, and the call came in shortly before 6:30 AM.
Upon arrival, crews found the building was fully involved on all three levels.
As a precaution people living at 45 Metcalf Street were told to evacuate their apartment building as a precaution due to the thick black billowing smoke.
You should avoid that area until fire crews have the blaze out and the mopping up is complete
